CICW has awarded Vital 91ÁÔÆæ, Vital Preaching Grants for over 20 years to teacher-scholars and worshiping communities in 45+ states and provinces and across 40+ denominations and traditions—including Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Pentecostal, non-denominational, and other Protestant communities.
While worship styles and practices vary greatly across these traditions, the grant projects typically explore at least one of CICW’s ten core convictions related to worship. Explore the hundreds of projects we’ve funded across both streams of the program.

To collaboratively create original liturgy, hymnody, and art for worship that facilitates connection with God in all of life.
Holy Cross Lutheran Church (2020)
To enrich the worship life of the congregation by bringing a variety of art forms together in monthly feast services that reflect the beauty and truth of the Triune God.
Indiana Wesleyan University and Anglican Church of the Ascension
To invite people into the solemnity and joy of the eucharist by focusing on collaboratively created art.
New Hope Presbyterian Church
To nurture community within the congregation and the neighborhood by promoting active participation in worship through the arts and the preached Word.

To promote engagement with scripture and the Christian year in worship by reflecting on the life and teachings of Christ through stained glass art.
Capital District of the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church
To integrate engagement with God through the arts into worship by cultivating a community of artists who will serve in a variety of churches.
Central Christian Church
To strengthen and deepen worshipers’ experience of God by engaging the Psalms through prayer, study, contemplation, service and the arts.

To invite people into the biblical story in worship and to broaden their vocabulary for interacting with God using visual art as a focal point.
