Tomas Ivens
Reverend Tomas M. Ivens has more than 30 years of experience as a pastor, specializing in urban ministries and non-profit management. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, community development, capacity building, community engagement, and fundraising. He is an ordained minister in the Christian Reformed Church of North America and serves as the Senior Donor Advisor for World Renew on the West Coast, an international development agency based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 2022, he served in a public office as an appointed school board member for the Bellflower Unified School District.
From 2003 to 2009, he led the "Hispanic Capacity Project" in Southern California, which was funded by the US HHS White House Capital Fund. Rev. Ivens has also been a member of the board of trustees and various commissions at important institutions, including United Way of West Michigan in Grand Rapids, North Park University in Chicago, the Religious Advisory Committee of Kent County, Michigan, and the Community Advisory Board for Urban Congregations Capacity for HIV Prevention and Care in Los Angeles. Additionally, he has served on the Advocacy Leader Team in Washington, D.C. (Capitol Hill/Congress) and as an executive board member of Caring Connections in Bellflower, California.
Rev. Ivens holds an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary, a diploma in the Leadership Program from the Harvard Divinity School, and a certification in Fundraising Leadership from The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University.
